Your patients’ health and well-being mean everything to you. So, when they experience wounds, your top priority is getting them treatment and giving them relief from their pain. QSM shares your commitment, and our team has created the industry benchmark for quality and expertise in wound care treatment.
Our standards were set through the leadership of Steven Magilen, M.D., the company’s Chief Medical Officer, and Chief Executive Officer. For more than 35 years, Dr. Magilen has kept QSM in the forefront of wound care treatment and technology. He personally oversees and certifies that all our Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners are thoroughly trained in the latest wound care concepts and strategies. We’re known for our faster healing rates, and we would be honored to be part of your quality healthcare team.
Dr. Steven Magilen is the founder, CEO, and Chief Medical Officer for Quality Surgical Management, based out of Hollywood, FL. He has always excelled in challenging environments, so when faced with the choice of where to attend medical school, he chose Brussels. He worked as an extern at Coney Island Hospital. While there he was most impressed by the number of post-operative wound infections he witnessed and began creating surgical techniques to prevent them. In 1976 Dr. Magilen completed his residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, FL, and for the next twenty years, worked in emergency departments in Dade and Broward Counties.
In 1996 Dr. Magilen was invited to join the wound clinic in Aventura Medical Center which was a Curative Wound Care Center. While there, he pioneered treatment protocols to assist in healing the most complex wounds. In 1999, after Medicare changed their reimbursement structure which prevented patients from coming to the clinic, he created Quality Surgical Management (QSM), one of the first teams nationwide of wound experts who visit patients in the SNF and their homes. A small practice that began in South Florida has now grown to four states due to the compelling outcomes and positive feedback the providers generate.
