Wound Care Management Focused on Quality and Integrity

Our providers and your facility’s wound care nurses perform rounds in the facility together each visit. When a patient presents with a new wound, we assess the wound, document it, and work with your staff to establish a care regimen.

If comorbidities affect the wound healing, we collaborate with other specialties (i.e. PCPs, vascular specialists, infectious disease specialists, etc.)

Sharp debridement, the careful cutting away of necrotic tissue from a wound site, is one of the most common treatments we offer. Once avoided by medical professionals, debridement is now embraced by the medical community and is recognized as the most effective strategy for expediting healing.^*

Following extensive training from QSM founder and surgical leader Dr. Steven Magilen, QSM specialists can perform this lifesaving and pain-relieving treatment bedside with the aid of local anesthesia, eliminating the need for transportation to a dedicated wound center.

Patients with an abscess require timely intervention to relieve pain and prevent infections from spreading into other areas of the body. QSM providers can identify the early stages of an abscess before it can cause further, more severe, complications.

Osteomyelitis is far more common than you think. Infections of bone tissue cause inflammation, swelling, and severe pain and discomfort. Unlike other conditions, if this infection is not caught early, the lack of blood supply caused by the infection prevents antibiotics from reaching the infected bone, which leads to possible amputations of the limb.

While most wound care services rely on MRIs for diagnosis we at QSM know that the most effective diagnostic tool is a biopsy of the infected bone. QSM providers are surgically trained to perform biopsies and adequate bone debridement at the bedside without leaving the facility.

Patients with SPC (suprapubic catheter) or PEG tube (percutaneous endoscopic gastronomy) may occasionally suffer from accidental removal or a malfunction or deterioration of the tube, requiring quick replacement to maintain urinary health or adequate nutrition.

At QSM, our providers have experience replacing and removing SPC, PEG, and other catheters and tubes, performing services bedside for your patients’ comfort and convenience.
